I've never walked into this hotel before despite that it is a landmark of Taipei. The hotel in itself is already grandioso with spectacular view. How about their buffet?
The selection is quite decent, and the quality of the food is great. However, like its age, the presentation needs improvement...which is probably what's reflecting in the price. As a buffet in a landmark hotel, it is considered quite cheap. However, I would no doubt go to another hotel buffet located in the XinYi district if I had a choice. Mostly because of convenience (this hotel is extremely hard to get to without a car), and also for the presentation of the food. Despite the spectacular view and the quality, it just doesn't feel like 5-star service.
I do have to say that it's definitely worth experiencing if you happen to have a vehicle, extremely hungy, and are looking for a worthy meal.
